What We Believe
The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod believes, teaches, and confesses that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. The mission of the church and the reason for its existence is to share this Good News of this Gospel with all people.
We Believe, Teach and Confess….
…that the only true God is the triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, three distinct persons in one divine being.
…that Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, is the heart and center of Scripture and therefore the key to its true meaning.
…that all people are sinful by nature, and that we cannot by our own powers re-establish a right relationship with God.
…that God desires all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
…that Jesus Christ lived a perfect life as our substitute, suffered and was crucified for our sins, and rose from the dead victoriously over sin, death, and the devil.
…that all who receive God’s free gift of salvation are saved by His grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
…that on the Last Day, Jesus Christ will visibly return to judge the living and the dead. All believers in Christ will be given eternal life in heaven, while all unbelievers will be sent into eternal condemnation.
We believe…
…that baptism is a divinely instituted washing of regeneration and that by it all who receive this sacrament in faith receive God’s grace and forgiveness, the
power of the Holy Spirit, and the promise of eternal life.
…that in the Sacrament of Holy Communion the body and blood of Jesus Christ are truly present in, with, and under the bread and wine. When received in faith, the Lord’s Supper gives forgiveness of sins, everlasting life, salvation, and strengthens faith.
